A Word to Readers

Dear Readers,
I am going away for some time and I will come back sometime in the middle of JANUARY. When I do, I will notify you.

I posted again on The Light.

Hi, I will post every Saturday from now on, but there might be a few exceptions. If so, I will notify you. The new post I have posted today will be continued every week on the same post. Notice that I have put the date on the top left hand corner. I will do so every week so that you know where you have left off.

At the same time, I would like to thank all of you faithful readers for encouraging me. Your encouragement has motivated me to publish a book. In fact, Dawn is going to be my first book. The prologue I posted on this blog is a rough draft of the book's prologue. I'll keep you posted on my progress, but I cannot reveal the details --Book Progress: Chapter 14

The White Cat

Long ago in a barren land, a white cat with a golden tiara on her head lived in a parched desert. She was the only cat alive in the whole world.
"I wish there is something colorful in the cracked land." she muttered to herself.
The white cat pondered this wish day and night, and finally, she decided to try to make her dream come true. At first, she dug up some clay. The clay was colorful and damp. For in those days, clay was plentiful and came in a variety of colors. She took some salmon-colored clay and some green clay, and with those she created a "flower". Then the thoughtful she-cat decided the "flower" was too plain. It needs to have something on its side, she concluded. She thought about this for a whole moon-cycle and finally added two ovals to the sides of the slim tube of green clay that she decided to call "stem."
Joy tempered the white cat as she saw her creation and bloom and wither in the four seasons. One day, while she was admiring her creation, she found another problem to face. If the creation could not produce its young, then she would have to plant many of them in the desolate surface of the ground. While the young cat pondered this problem, an idea surged through her mind. She would go to Moon, for the Moon symbolized life.
The next day, the cat prepared for her visit to Moon. She gathered several items and embarked on her journey. The road to Moon would be hard to traverse. The path was a shining rainbow that soared through the sky every morning and would disappear like dew in the morning sun after dawn. Quickly, the white cat leaped into the sky and landed on the rainbow. Clouds loomed above her and birds sang their joyous songs.
Finally, the young cat bounded into Moon's house. She explained her worries to the wise Moon, and in reply, Moon dropped a tear-shaped seed onto the white cat's flower. Instantly, the seed fell next to its mother and started growing. As soon as the young cat left, another problem loomed up to her. She decided to consult Wind about it.
The very next day, the white she-cat dashed up a trail to Wind's house. it was lower than the path to Moon's house and easier to climb. Soon she arrived at Wind's home between the earth and sky. The white cat told Wind that all flowers had to wither and die, or else there would be too many on earth. So, Wind presented the problem with a solution: all flowers would wither and die in winter, the harshest of all the seasons.
In the spring, the flowers straightened their weary limbs and tilted their heads to the sun. In the summer, they produced seeds that would one day mature into full-grown flowers. In the fall, they shed their leaves. In the winter, they all withered and perished in the freezing cold, but then the seeds would start to sprout at the end of winter, and the cycle would start again.
All was well for the white cat. She grew more and more flowers, and soon they populated the whole world. The she-cat then made different types of flowers, experimenting with different colors and shapes. Some were tall and slim, while others grew on vines. The white cat spent moons on making more and more plants until the whole world had a variety of plants.
This was how plants were born to the earth. We must thank the white cat for those beautiful specimens that she introduced to the world.
